Needing recommendations for a slim profile 1911 OWB holster. Lost a bunch of weight and IWB is no longer comfortable.

Milt Sparks and matching belt. It's very comfortable and carries tightly to your waist. Cost a little more, but worth the price of entry.

I carry a 4506, which is similar in size/weight to a 1911, in a Dom Hume JIT holster on a Wilderness Instructor belt.

When I lost weight I had to start carrying ANOTHER 1911 on my left hand side to shim my pants enough to keep them from falling off. Might try that...especially if you only have one 1911 now.

DeSantis Avenger rides higher than some and is straight up draw. Quality cowhide with a tension device. Midway has these in stock at a good price.

The Avenger pattern is an old classic that is still relevant today. Good for everyday carry, with easy concealment. Works as a range/base competition holster.

Newer renditions have more leather left and right in the elongated belt tabs, making them a bit more bulky. Maybe more comfy, however I've never had a problem with an Avenger on a proper stout belt.

This is my Lobo pancake made by that Lobo guy.

I don't think you can get much better.

Got this for about $50 in December at a big box store. 1791 BH1. MSRP on their site has gone up to $59. Available in various colors. It passed my "upside-down-shake-test" and is very comfortable.

Have several DeSantis Speed Scabbards for both semis and revolvers....

The one for 1911s is excellent open top with screw adjustable draw tension...pulls in high and tight.

The DeSantis Mini Scabbard rides just a little lower and also has the tension screw for security without a strap or thumbreak.

Available in black or brown and can be found for about $80...no 6 month wait...

When I carry the Commander OWB I use the Speed Scabbard....

...also OP...did you ever decide on a gun???
