And one more vote for the SR1911. I have no clue how Ruger can make this price point as this is one well built 1911. As it stands up to now I have absolutely no complaints what so ever. It will be interesting to see what they will do next with there 1911s. Here's a picture of mine with my 4566.
Ruger's keeps costs down because their casting facility is top notch. They can pump out cast frames and slides that are as strong as any forging very quickly and cheaply and a minimal tool replacement or metal loss.
Good guns. They had a run of front sights shearing off (example of a bad casting) but they probably have that worked out by now.
