What's the going price for a mix-master 1911A1 now days?

I'm in line for a DCM 1911 shortly. BUT I'd have to drive 120 miles round trip and pay a FFL to process it for me.

On the other hand using my C&R license I could have it delivered to my door.

My question can I find a decent 1911 for 1100-1200?

Curious.

Thanks

But, I'm interested myself; not seriously looking for one, but, then again, I would like to know what I can expect to pay if I get to looking. A LGS here has one made 1914-1915, all matching parts supposedly, for $3500. I guess it's not a mix master, somehow, but it sure isn't a safe queen.
I suppose you're familiar with the Turkish-made Tisas. It's probably the closest I'll ever come to owning a "real" one.

I just chased a CMP WWll 1911A1 Ithaca piece with early spur hammer to North of $1600 where I lost interest. I can get my hands on a quality WWl piece for around $3000 from a collector friend who knows what he's got. Colts are always ridiculously priced which usually baffles me because they are not superior to anything I am aware of, they are just Colts. The old saw goes "You never pay too much for a Colt, you just buy it at the wrong time."

I haven't seen a decent M1911A-1 for less than $1,800 around here in SE PA in a few years now. Maybe you could get a mixmaster for $1,500 if you look around. Non mixmaster pistols all seem to be $2,200 and up depending on maker and condition.

A decent C&R 1911 for less than $1100? Add another $500, you'll have a better chance of finding one!

If you're willing to wait until the next round starts, The cheapest way to get a good G.I. 1911A1 is through the CMP. Good guns straight from Army storage in issue-able condition.
But you will have to wait. Round 4 has closed and no dates yet for Round 5.

Otherwise, I doubt you're gonna touch even a decent mix-master for less than around $1500-1700.

I have a CMP 1911 from the first round. I had a low lottery number so I got it quickly. I paid $1050 for it. As I was doing the paperwork at the FFL, a customer looked at it and offered me $1500, and prices surely haven't gone down since then. The CMP is the way to go.

Funny thing is many people say they're junk and they'd rather buy a modern 1911 for less.

I was able to get a Remington Rand M1911A1 in CMP first round. I bought it because it came direct from the arsenal. It was reworked at Anniston 5/78. That made it significant to me because that is month and year I enlisted in National Guard. Never fired, plan on keeping it in condition as received. Have a few other 1911's that I shoot.

CMP

This is going to sound real dumb, but I have never heard of buying from CMP nor do I know what that means?
Can someone enlighten me?

Still a rookie.

CMP, Civilian Marksmanship Program. They are located at Anniston AL and Port Clinton OH. Go to odcmp website and check them out.

I have a 1917 Colt. Had it for years. Never reworked as I can see. Had some ridiculous offers but it's staying. For a shooter I bought a RIA...with bells and whistles. Shoots just fine...surprisingly. I also have a Wilson Combat with the 22 cal conversion. I no longer carry it either. I do carry a 4 1/4 inch Kimber. Just to have a GM doesn't really mean that much to me even though I have the one

The CMP is not a bad way to go as long as you have a little patience. I passed on Round 1 & 2 but was impressed with what was coming from the CMP that I ordered one in Round 3 and was very pleased with my Service Grade at $1250.00.

Some folks are reselling their CMP 1911's with a several hundred dollar markup.
