1917 Army (Post war-Transitional)

A new star in my collection, this revolver is, I.A.W SCSW, one of fewer than 1000 built from the buy back of U.S. Army frames and parts after WW II. This one has the lanyard loop/butt swivel.

I'd love to eventually add just such an example to my M1917/.45acp revolver collection. Nice find. All I've seen have been priced accordingly to their scarcity. 😂
 
I just got the ship date on the one you see above. October of 1947. The dent on the left stock panel and a small dent on the front sight indicates to me that the gun was dropped at some time, but not damaged beyond that. Thanks to a forum member I will soon have some half moon clips on the way. It's a very solid example with the correct numbered stocks.
 
Can you see the sliding bar of the post war hammer block safety in the hammer channnel?

And the notch on the face of the hammer to accommodate the new hammer block safety?
