1917 Hotroding.

Well we have some old school rear sight work for this reborn old girl. This is a take on the King Super Police Night Sight, front will be completed after I regulate height at the range

This girl is not ready for reassembly, final parts/safety check and range time to regulate sights and work out the new action parts. Then polish a express blue. FINALLY!!

I made my U cut a bit deeper as I'm going to fill with silver solder and dress back out so I get a nice silver U notch after it's blue

Everything is looking great. Glad you have updated us on the project.

As mentioned by others, when you are set up and ready, please let us know. I have at least one revolver that is begging for the rear sight treatment you have shown.

Well, I'm hoping to go to range this weekend if weather agrees. I have it all back together, and the shortened mainspring is working good, might play with it a hair to lighten things up and I'll do a action job as well.

I have talked with some other people here on forum and I will be offering this modification. It will most likely be a package as I will refinish whole pistol afterwards. I'm looking at white rear(paint) with brass front, silver rear with brass front or brass with brass front. I'm looking at doing a model 10 once I get setup, it will be a lot like this 1917 - grip mod, sight mod, barrel 3" and I will do a rib on it and a reworked hammer. Very much like George Matthews 2" - the hammer might be differant as I may take a note from Colt and work it into the pistol. We will just have to see where it goes.

I'm ready for this one to get finished up, and it's getting very close!
