1917 Target Has Arrived!!

That revolver is simply stunning!

I am not as familiar with Smith & Wessons of that vintage. There is a screw on the top strap which is well forward of the rear sight. What is it for?

The forward most screw holds the sight to the top strap just like on new Revolvers.

The gentleman who I bought the Gun from lived one Town over in Moundridge,KS.He bought the Gun a few years back from the original owner who sent it back to S&W, his name is/was William T. Bond.

I will be taking the Gun to the range on Friday,I will post a range report once I return.I have some .45ACP Hardball hand loads made up for it.The cylinder throats are not that oversized,They are about .453 or so.
