1917 value help

Please excuse me if this is not the right spot to post this!!!!
I have a 1917 that I'm looking to sell and can't figure out how to post pictures. The gun is #4556 with matching grips in what I would consider a strong 80% condition. I do have some pictures in photobucket but can't seem to post them here.

That sounds like a fairly early example. There will be people interested in buying it.

Entering your serial number in the website below, we see that it was made in December, 1917.

It's hard to assign a value without seeing it, or at least seeing pictures. Prices have been going up in the last few years. I note that you are in Canada, so that will limit your potential market. I have heard it is possible to sell a gun accross the border, but my guess would be that it is a major hassle.

Thank you for the info. I had assumed it was an early one. As for selling it, you are right,unless it is antique, it is just about impossible to get any military marked firearm into the U.S.A.
