I just got this cut down S&W 1937 .45 ACP. I love it. It's my new favorite gun.

Sweet old 1st contract Brazilian which used the new made sq top frame as opposed to the 2nd contract which used surplus 1917 round top frames.

I ducked under the desk when the third pic came up......:) Nice!!!

Congrats on a nice looking and excellent wheel gun.
I currently have 2 chopped/bobbed 1917 types.
One is similar to yours in that it's a 1937 Brazil that's had the barrel cut to little over 3" plus the hammer spur removed.
The other is an early production 1917 that's had a 625-10 (2") barrel installed. I enjoy them both, especially when carried in a sour dough pancake.

I meant to do that to the Brazilian Contract 1917 that I got many years ago. After shooting it as it was, I decided I liked it that way.

Shot PPC matches, some bowling pins, used it as a house gun for a while,
and took it rabbit hunting. It's been a while since I shot it.
Should do something about that this spring.

I also have a 1917 that was re-barreled years ago with a factory 5.5" commercial barrel. I have no plans to alter it, just shoot it.
The chopped 1937, I bought that way and the other 1917 was rebarreled (with -10 barrel) due to the original being worn out.

I love modified 1917s. I own several and am always on the lookout for new ones. Great gun. I know you will enjoy the heck out of it.
