I was checking out a nice 5 screw M&P which should be in my hands in a few weeks and have a question, the large side plate screw has a flat head and the bluing is gone, this leads me to believe it is a replacement, it should be rounded right?

I was looking for a replacement on Numrich, but the only replacement they sell looks just like the one in the gun now.

Here is a link to the picture:Sideplate Screw, Large Head, Blue - New Replacement

I think you're correct, they should have a rounded head.

The problem is that the upper sideplate screw is unique in all the world. As far as I know, there is not an identical screw that was ever used anywhere. So, when you need one, you either find an orig S&W, or that replacement is the only option.

And yes, the origs have round heads.

Post a WTB on the classified section, someone should have one they would cut loose
