1954 Marlin 30/30 in the box

Your friend might want it back. IDK
Hang on to it for a bit. IMO
Great Score !!

I bought this today. It's a new condition, possibly never fired Marlin 336 from 1954 in its original box. I really wasn't looking for it, but a close friend needed cash. I really like the wood.
I've got a Marlin 1895 Guide Gun in 45/70 that I've hunted every year since 1973. They are great guns.

Nice wood on that Marlin 30-30 . 👀😍🥰
Very nice find…

Very nice.

I have a Marlin 336 made around 1956 or so.

I traded a Fender Telecaster for it!

I think both of us thought we got the better end of the trade, lol!

I have a 1963 Marlin 336. Lyman Peep Sight added. Don't ever, ever get rid of it. Everyone wants to buy mine. It will quite literally be sold or given away over my dead body.

You lucked out with the wood on that one. I have a 1952 sporting carbine in .35 Remington that was my fathers. Stock is rather plain, from the looks you would think it was quarter sawed pine, but definetly walnut. It's one I will never part with, only to pass it on to my grandson.
I do have one of the early guide guns, 45-70 with a highly figured burl buttstock,
