1960's 3" J-Frames: Who bought'em??

I have a couple J-Frames. .32 and .38
I wonder who in the '60's/early '70's bought these guns.
I suppose for some reasons like mine...diminutive, fun to shoot, targets of opportunity in the woods, etc.
Back then, I think maybe night stand was the most frequent.
Long past police issue, what other reasons can you think of?

Back in '76 I traded my police revolver for this one.
I was a field engineer on the road a lot and my bride
wanted protection.
It's still her protection gun. Now wears Pachmayr grips.
Yeoman service. Best trade I ever made.

I bought and carried a Model 38 Body Guard back in the 70's. Handy little gun for close up defense.
