I had a gun worth 1/2 of this one. He refused to let me give him any boot. I was at an event this week and saw moreWow!
What did you have to trade for that? Your firstborn maybe?
Me either. But this is the first box of this vintage I have acquired. That's a nice one.
Just how did S&W get the box end printing upside down on "6-Inch Barrel"? I've never seen that before.
Didn’t notice that. Strange.That's a nice one.

Maybe the guy doing boxes that day sneaked a pint into the factory.Didn’t notice that. Strange.
The box has a lot going on.
Congratulations, that's a beauty! Interesting that it has a red ramp front sight. I thought that the 6" versions usually had a Patridge sight, but the grease pencil indicates it came special order with the RR/WO. Does the grease pencil look like original S&W factory writing because it has a lot of information that I'm not used to seeing on the bottom of a box? It's a very nice Model 27! Enjoy!
Beautiful gun Gary, this similar gun shipped eight years earlier to RexTraded a buddy for this pretty nice 27. Box is ragged but grease pencil numbers match. Shipped to Olympic Wholesale in November 1961.View attachment 883988View attachment 883989View attachment 883990View attachment 883991View attachment 883992View attachment 883993
