1970 Muscle Cars

^^^ That vintage of Riviera has always been a beautiful car and has stood the test of time, it makes you wonder if the body was designed by one of the Italian design studios.

The one with the vertical headlights in the corners hidden behind clamshell doors was my favorite model of American car. :D:D:D

Bill Mitchell was GM styling chief for many years. He wanted to do something about the "Thunderbird problem". He wanted a car that had the elegance of a Rolls Royce with the flavor of a Ferrari, and I think he succeeded admirably. This car was his favorite design in his own words, and that's saying something from the guy who also designed the split window '63 Corvette.

I owned a 1970 Dodge Charger that a lady in a Delta 88 jumped the median in the rain and totaled about 1977. I owned a 1967 Mercury cougar for a while around the mid 70's. Drove a 1970 Monte Carlo that I sold around 1982. I didn't pay over $500.00 for any of them. Wish I would have stuck them in a barn.
