Seems to be a lot of these older 36's getting posted lately. I found this one today at a local gun shop. I've been on a J frame kick as of late but didn't have a 36.
One of the first off-duty guns I bought back in the early 90's was a model 36. I of course sold it off for the "next gun". So, I decided if I see another out in the wild, I'm buying it.
This one was marked at $550. Condition was very good to excellent, with great lock-up and timing. And it came with the box, manual, and cleaning kit. Based on the serial number and sticker on the end of the box, I'm guessing this dates to 1972? This is my first square butt J frame. And with my larger hands, it does feel better than the round butts.
I'm not sure what's up with this sticker? Did this come from S&W like this, or was it added elsewhere?
After clean-up and adding a grip adapter.
The shop even threw in this sporterized SA 1903 Mark I for $250.
