1975 Model 66 with a Magna trigger mod

I just wanted to share some pictures and my video (Please sub)
of my Model 66 with "MAGNA TRIGGER"

Magna Trigger Safety Ring Modification (extremely Rare}
The magnet lock is a "Magna Trigger." It was very popular with law enforcement agencies in the northeast.

best regards, Rick

Somewhat popular in the West, too. Not the greatest invention. It also killed resale value.
"Extremely rare"?
And thank God for that, too. ;:rolleyes:

I've subscribed.

If that modification was put on your Duty Revolver from back in the day, your work partner would also need one or at least wear the ring, in case he/she needed to use your gun and vice versa.

A few thousand were installed in the 70s and 80s.
The Magna Trigger is where the front strap has been replaced with a magnet lock contraption and requires the user
to wear a magnetic ring This and this alone will allow the handgun to fire.
The Magnetic mechanism works flawlessly when the Ring is placed on the middle or Ring finger

best regards, Rick
I remember around 1980 the CHP and other California departments were against this device.
1. How do you use it with either hand? Two rings?
2. What if you needed to use your partner's gun? Or he, yours. (this only applies when you are not both using this device)
I, for one, would be against it in a service weapon. For a bedside gun, that's another story.
