1978 29-2 Paperwork

I am trying to put together everything my 1978 29-2 came with. Can any one tell me what paper work came with my model 29, Owners manual, warranty card, ect.

I have found a complete set on ebay but I don't know if its for the right year.

Any help would be great.

1978 is within the Bangor Punta era of S&W. Unfortunately, some of the literature from that period (the "Safety and Instructional Materials for your Smith & Wesson Firearm," brochure for example) does not have a date. It does say "Bangor Punta" however. (Side note: During the Lear Siegler period 1984-87, the literature was not only undated, they used at least 2 different brochures for the "Safety and Instructional Materials" brochure - not sure if that happened during the Bangor Punta years).Hopefully, one of our literature experts will be along with more help.

Here's a quick picture of items that were included with Bangor Punta era revolvers. Please note that in the upper right is an ammunition brochure and there are 2 very different versions of the "Instruction Manual." Perhaps an expert will be along to define more precisely the items that would have been included with your 1978 revolver.
