Great looking gun. My only commander is a Dan Wesson Guardian in 9mm. Had a 38 super barrel and bushing fit to the Guardian. Would like to find a Colt Combat in 38 super.

Looks as tho, both the buyer and the seller are happy! My favorite kind of deal. Good for you.

That's a nice gun, and looks to be a good buy. I don't understand some shops...they could have offered him $550 for it and still made a nice profit, since it would probably have sold for at least $700 or more in their store. Of course, I know you are glad they didn't!

Beautiful gun, sounds like you both got a great deal...!

I've got one just like it, beautiful gun!

Great gun! I have a mutt on a 1943 frame and am fond of it - over $700 fond :).

I use to buy them at Kieth's Sporting goods for 220 bucks and get them in my moms name on the paper work . I would jump on that on . . Python was 450 or so .

back in 1985 I bought a Colt Combat Commander 9mm as my first 1911 type pistol. I was dumb enough to sell it 2 years later. Wish I had kept it, great gun. My only comfort: The successor was a .45 ACP Colt Combat Government...

I bought a brand new Colt Combat Commander in '74.
It was a 9mm.
Sold it in '76.
Been kicking myself in the azz for the last 10 years for selling it cause it was the first brand new gun I bought after getting out of the service.

Congrats on the gun and thanks for the picture.
And reminding me to get to the gun show today.

I've seen many exchanges being done in a gun shop parking lot between some disgruntled customer and an alert buyer. When a gun owner is insulted by a gun shop , and you offer him a little more, you can get a great deal.

Small wonder GunBroker is popular. Either that or consignment in my book. Owners of these high quality guns should get a premium. And I mean long guns as well as handguns. Guns I bought 40 years like a 39-2 or a old Wingmaster and 1100 seem like high end guns these days when compared to whats leaving the factories these days. The cost of high quality today is often through the roof.

Where is this LGS located? I may hang out in the parking lot for a while.
