I have always loved the tapered barrels so I let this 624 follow me home so when a friend offered It as well as a nib 1971 17-3 and a bunch (25) c- notes he went home with my M1a super match

Called S&W customer service about the serial number was told it was not on the recall list
What ya think

Had a 624 on my wish list years ago but all I found at the time was a 4" barrel for a 624,
Thought about installing it on a 629 until
SW introduced the 629 Mountain gun a few years later .

Just one....

One of my "never sell" guns, that's a fine one you found. Congrats!

I owned a 624 several years ago, sent it to Jim Stroh of Alpha Precision to have the barrel shortened to 5". It was an exceptional .44 Special, in a weak moment I let it go. I owned a 4" 629 no dash that I was also very fond of that also left the stable. A couple years ago I was fortunate enough to find another 4" 629 no dash, learned my lesson this one will never be sold. I'd like to find a 4" 624 to be its companion piece.

Very nice! I lucked into a 624 four inch several years ago. Older gentleman with nobody to pass it down to. He said the only way he'd sell it to me is if I would continue to shoot it. I had to send it back to Smith a couple years ago as it developed "push off". It came back with a nicely improved double and single action. I of course still shoot it.

I've got a Lwe Horton 3" 24-3 as well. It doesn't come out of the safe as often.
