1st post - model 10 help

Hello,

New to the forum.
I am not too familiar with the model 10.
Could I please get some info on when this may
have been made and possible range of value? The serial number is D 864XXX

Your Model 10 was made in 1976 and it's a model 10-5 which should be marked 10-5 on the crane when you look at it with the cylinder open where it pivots out. The grips are not original as they should be wood S&W magna grips which would look like the ones in the picture below.
