Just curious, what direction does your brass take when it is ejected from the gun? Brand new 2.0. I was expecting it to go the the right, like most semi-auto's that I have fired. Instead, it mostly shoots straight back towards me. Not a real big deal, I always wear safety glasses. Just gets interesting when hot brass goes on the wrong side of the shirt.

Is this just the nature of the beast, or is something off?

What ammo are you using? You recoil spring is new and tight. "Weak" ammo, like 115g WWB, can fling cases straight back at you. Try some different ammo, and shoot more to help break in.

My 2.0 9mm Compact ejects to the right since new even with 115gr ammo.

Oh, I LIKE the way you think.. "shoot more to help break in" What a great idea! :)

I thought it might be due to everything being new. As for the ammo, shooting 124g with a Win231 load of 4.4g powder. I'm reluctant to go any higher as that is the max that Winchester recommends. I should buy a box of factory loads and see what happens with it.

Thanks for the tip

Good idea. See if you can find some NATO 124g. They have a little more oomph than the usual factory loads. BassPro and Walmart usually has them, sometimes even cheaper than the rest.

My M&P40 2.0 Compact (4") tosses to the right until I run hot loads - then it flings it over my right shoulder. It doesn't hit me, so I don't care.
