2" M&P .38 in box *it's home - more pics*

Mines a 1948 round butt, but alas, no box.
Almost ashamed to say I only paid $350 for it.

If it'll make you feel a little less ashamed, I only paid $139 for this one, but that was nearly 20 years ago. :D

Serial numbers in the SCSW says in 1948 numbers ran from C1-C223998. But then start up again in 1952 at C223999. So were all numbers in that range made in 1948 and sold until they ran out in 1952 and started up production again?
This one is C123398
It very likely shipped in August or September, 1950. A 2" M&P serialized at C123074, shipped in September 1950.

And no. It is highly unlikely that all of them in the C1 to C223998 range were assembled in 1948.

Thank you for the info. I wonder why the SCSW doesn't narrow down the years 49, 50, and 51?

Bought yesterday in a Germany auction for 1150 euros + 25% auction's fees + duty to import in Italy and postage cost. Probably the total price will be 1600/1700 euros.
Serial Number 625464, year about 1938 + or -
Now I have to work hard to find a box.
I don't even know what the box looks like, red or brown, is it?
Please, if anyone own a right box, publish some pics of it, and i will be grateful as help to this search.

Not a whole lot of pre war guns. That is a great find.
