Saw a 2" Model 34-1 with diamond magnas and flat latch. This would put it 1960-1966. It has a box, but not original. It's probably 90-95%. What do you guys think it might be worth? Not too familiar with this one. I am currently without a .22 handgun (feel kinda naked).

Alternatives I am considering are a conversion kit for my Sig P220, a 1 7/8" 317 or Ladysmith (secure in my masculinity), or maybe an older K22 (gotten fairly spendy lately). Prefer something smaller for totin' or in the case of the Sig, something I already have leather for.

I picked up a 4" 34-1 with box a little over a year ago for $450, which I thought was a pretty good buy at the time. Hope that helps.

These 34-1 2" revolvers are great little guns, but they have really jumped in price recently. You can't find a 2" Model 34 for less than $500 around here.

At that price I'd consider a 317.

I was looking really hard at 317s, but then I saw one on AuctionArms that the finish had gone to sh*% on - looked like it had been in a tackle box in Florida for a few years (it was sold from Arizona). This concerned me, plus they still wanted over $500. I went ahead and got the 34-1 - for the same money I figure I got a classic and a handy 22. I don't think I'll mind the extra weight and hopefully 6 shots will get the job done (grouse sometimes stay put while you reload!). thanks for the replies . . .

Congratulations on your purchase!
If your M 34 is half as good as my 4-incher, you will certainly not regret your decision! It handles extremely well and shoots as good as my Ruger mK2 target.
This 34 brought 'fun' back into my shooting! :)

picked up a 34-1 about 4 yrs. ago at a gun show for 250.00. Had looked for one forever. Wouldn't take twice what I paid for it. It's one i'll never get rid of.

Model 34-1

I just picked a 4" Nickel Plated 34-1 for $400

This is my first .22 revolver and was wondering about dry firing? Most people say not to do it with .22's so I thought I'd ask those of you who already have them.

Ok, not ok?

Thanks

Sparkz, imho--NOT OK to dry fire any firearm. If you make that your rule, then you don't have to remember anything else :-)

I have been watching 6 shops in the SE PA area for the past 4 years and I havent seen any model 34s for sale,,, AT ALL.
I did get a flat latch 4"er from a show last year at a real nice price,
But in my parts, They are priceless!
