2 Piece handguards on your 15-22? YES!

Here are some pics.
The first one is a standard M-4 hand guard.
The second one is the MOE hand guard.
I did not remove the gas block to swap hand guards. Just like you would on your M&P 15 or regular AR
This is the 2 Piece Hand Guard Kit for Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 (Standard)
2 Piece Hand Guard Kit for Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 (Standard) [Standard 15-22 Hand Guard Kit] - $69.00 : Tacticool22, Tactical .22 Rifle Parts and Accessories
You can see the AR-15 barrel nut is almost touching the front of the index tabs for the factory hand guard.

this looks like a great kit.......gotta have it.....!!!!!

They are ready to ship.
If you have the barrel vise jaws and the barrel nut wrench, just get the three piece kit.
If you already have those and the free float adapter kit, just get the one piece "Gas Block" to complete your build.

Cool product but my favorite thing about the 15-22 is the quad rail. Seems like a downgrade for looks. What am I missing?

Some people want their 15-22 to be an exact match to their duty rifle.
Some people do not like the quad rails.
Some people use only optics and have no need for a front sight on their rail.
Some people just want to be different (or difficult)
I did not like having only one choice. I really did not like it when S&W told me you can't take off the hand guard, so I made the first commercially available 15-22 barrel nut wrench.

I've been thinking about getting the kit and trying to find some "Nam era" triangle hand guards, A1 length stock and sight block.

The only issue I would really have is the Triangle hand guards and front sight block working without messing up the look and "flow" of the rifle (I'm thinking mini M16-22) *I know I mentioned this to you already Tacticool22 but I had to throw this out there for others that like the looks of the classic Vietnam era rifles*

Great idea, love to see pictures when your done :)

I'm thinking going more conventional and build up a "dizzy" upper with magpul rifle length hand guards.

ETA: now that I think about it, since I can move the gas block anywhere I want, I can play around and figure out what I like. So nice not having to worry about gas tubes and ports!

Here is mine....would this work for you? I picked up the A-2 front sight and a round end cap. Both had a hole which I screwed together so the end cap became stationary when I tightened the sight in place.....:)

The standard kit allows you to leave your rifle factory fresh.
You will wind up with a gap of about .188 inch or 4.8mm
The modified kit requires you to remove the bottom indexing tab and most of the top one. You will wind up with a gap of .1 inch or 2.5mm
