2" Victory?

I came across this yesterday and did not have an answer for this guy so HELP! He has a 2" Victory, parkerized finish, lanyard loop, etc, in .38 S&W. Was this a factory gun or did someone bob the barrel? It looks like a factory job. Also ny ideas on what he should sell it for? Thanks in advance!

If the caliber is indeed .38 S&W (.38-200) and not .38 S&W Special, it is a cut down barrel gun and not an original 2" barrel Victory. It should look like the authentic 2" Victory Model pictured below.

If you check the ads in the gun press in the 50s & 60s, you will see surplus dealers offering 2 inch Victory Models, with the statement that these are rebarreled guns. Ed.
