20 years and done pics added

Congrats to your son and his family.

Those guys -- Dustoff they called 'em in Korea -- saved me twice when I was stationed there in '79 and '94. On my last "ride" I asked one of the medics for his unit patch -- it's in a position of honor in my shadow box. Without those folks I wouldn't be here to write this.

I especially like the picture of him stretched out in the back of the UH-60. Cool, calm and collected. Congrats to him on his pending retirement. My son goes on terminal leave this coming January. He took a little hiatus with FedEx because his wife was tired of him going to the sand box over and over again, but the AF called him back.

You have every right to be extremely proud of your son. Good job Dad.

Still called Dustoff, there's a really decent documentary called "When I have your wounded" that goes through the history of Dustoff. It's on YouTube and dvd available online.

This is his patch from his first medevac unit

God Bless him, and thanks. You can sleep easy now. I wonder if he might have crossed paths with my son during my son's stint as a gunner on a Chinook in Iraq a few years ago.
