642 or 60

642 or 60...IWB, mostly; via a Remora. Strong side; 3:30 or thereabouts.

Sometimes OWB...if wearing a suit/sportcoat. Same position via a Galco.

That's it. No knives, lights, etc. but sometimes an extra 'refill.'

This has ALWAYS worked...and has been used many, many, many times in 30.5 years of big city crime fighting and 41 + years of CCW.

Be safe.

I'm a simple man with simple tastes.

640 with the FBI load, pocket-carried in a DeSantis Nemesis. Sometimes a speed strip reload, often not.

Spyderco Endura or SOG Flash 2, usually the Endura. Victorinox Pioneer or Super Tinker for the tools.

Lightweight steel cane I have to use for walking.

I don't feel under-equipped.

Notwithstanding the pair of wallets (ID & thin one for cards) and car key fob ...

*Cellphone
*Small reading glasses
*Usually some gun or other
*Usually some spare ammo for some revolver or pistol (depending)
*1-3 knives, maybe a 4th, depending on the day's planned activities & travel area (lots & lots of knives from which to choose ;) )
*Small but strong pocket light
*Sometimes a watch (wrist or pocket)

Optional for specialized leisure activity:
Cigar cutters (different punch, scissors, guillotine, etc)
Cigar torch

Adventuring w/granddaughter:
Nitrile gloves
Antiseptic wipes
Strong cleaning wipes (for bathroom surfaces)
First aid supplies

My veh's (SUV, 4-rd sedan, motorcycles) usually carry a wide assortment of back up and supplemental supplies, tools and things to augment whatever I may have on my person.

When traveling on a road trip, my luggage usually holds a 60/40 split of clothing and "equipment/supplies" (in addition to whatever is going to be carried on my person), with "toiletries" carried in a separate luggage/case. Other bags and boxes in the SUV or car contain more dedicated "emergency supplies and tools", and emergency clothing, to supplement what's carried in the portable luggage.

Often one of my body armor vests end up in a trunk. ;)

As a retiree whose daily travels are pretty tame I carry my M&P .380 w/one extra mag in a pocket and two extra mags in the car. Aside from that it's a wallet, keys and cell phone. August Update: Picked up a LCP on sale for $199 at Gander Mt. (sale on again) and carry that due to its lighter weight and somewhat smaller profile. I'm keeping the S&W .380 simply b/c it's fun to shoot and I do carry it from time to time.

Belts?

Hmmm ...

Got a Bison Designs light duty belt and an assortment of leather belts to accommodate whatever buckles and belt loops (and comfort level) I may feel like on any given day.

Folks seem to like spending money on custom and specialty "gun belts", and once upon a time I ordered 2 or 3 customer holster-maker pants belts. That was then ...

In later years I decided I could usually find any number of ordinary leather belts that would work just fine with my dress/plainclothes gear for work, and still match my clothes in shades of brown & black, while being comfortable for long days (12-18hrs). I've got different belts for different "rise" pants, and the leather ones all seem to work with my assortment of leather & plastic belt scabbards, and paddles.

l like my belts not to imply that they're gun belts ... unless I'm wearing my sesquicentennial agency badge belt buckle, which I was able to have made via agency letterhead, for a retirement belt buckle. Fancier than the much older brass fancy badge (my badge number) I had ordered for some group purchase many years ago.

I only wear those badges when I expect to be in extremely low-risk environments, or I'm armed with something of greater caliber than my good looks and cigar cutter. ;)

On person
iPhone 5s
Case Old Red Bone - 61225L SS
Ruger LCP + DeSantis Nemesis
Surefire Titan Plus 15/75/300 lumen
Mori RFID

As far as all that other stuff that's all in my "get-home bag" which stays in the truck.... contents too much to list.

Today was:

3914
spare mag
cell phone
wallet/keys
Husky folding razor

Tomorrow will be the same, but a 60-15 .357 will sit in for the 3914, as I'm heading up to God's country in northwestern PA.

I'm hunting the elusive Browning Hi-Power MkII, but I have a good feeling I'm going to bag one!

Personal EDC gear
wallet
keys
kershaw brawler
cell (left home more then my sidearm)
P30, 124gr hp (mfg varies depending on which mag I've grabbed, last time I was at the range)

Truck EDC
-extra mag
-gloves
-mag light
-other more standard truck gear, like tool box, empty jug, funnel,

Typically...

S&W 642-1 with Spegel boot grips and Speer SB-GDHP, carried on my right in a Side Guard Holsters Quick Clip IWB holster.
A couple of Safariland Comp I speedloaders with SB-GDHP in a couple of JOX pouches on my left.
1.5" Beltman bullhide belt.
Spyderco Delica 4 FRN FFG clipped to my left front pocket.
FourSevens Quark Tactical 123^2 clipped to my left rear pocket.
Fenix PD20 and Leatherman Style PS on my keys in my right front pocket.
Zebra F-701 pen, weather-resistant notepad, and small first aid kit (for minor stuff) in right rear pocket.
Cell phone, wallet, cash, etc.

And before you ask...Yes, I can carry all of this in my pants pockets without needing suspenders. ;)

I don't always have my backpack handy, but I keep a Dark Angel pocket trauma kit, a Leatherman Fuse, and spare batteries for my flashlights in it.

I keep meaning to add a Peanut Lighter to my keychain, but just haven't gotten around to it. I've also seen a nifty keychain that holds a length of duct tape.

I keep a larger first aid kit in the trunk of my car and a Benchmade Houdini (seat belt cutter + window breaker) in the car door.

I've got about three purses, including a very nice 5.11 backpack, a smaller Eagle three compartment bag that stays in the truck and a shoulder bag that looks a lot like this one, except it's black. My problem is remembering what's in the one that I happen to have at the moment.

Depending on which country I'm in when I go out the door.
USA: CZ 75 Compact or Colt Officers acp and BG .380
MX: Small day pack with built in ballistic shield (courtesy of the company)
with a tiny 2 way and an EPIRB, BG .380 (unless one of my guys down there gives me something else).
Spyderco Paramilitary 2 always.
