2025 update-red dot mount options for model 41

Hello-

I’m brand new to this group so thanks for the information I’ve gleaned here so far as a newbie. This purchase is my first S & W. I’ve just purchased a model 41 (new) and I’m in my waiting period to take it home. I can fire it at my local range while it’s in holding, but I haven’t done so yet as it just arrived yesterday.

I’d like to mount a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro red dot to it. I (believe) have read every post on this site regarding such. I just wanted to check in to see if anyone has a more recent update to the available options.

Thanks in advance for any new intel. Lacking that, I’ll work off of the great information posted here up until 2022 or so.

I have a PC model 41 with integral rail so I did not have to mount a separate base for an optic. I like the UD Matchdot 2, it's a little bulky with the 30mm tube and all the reticle options aren't really necessary for shooting bullseye. They are fun to play with at the range though. I like the optic mounted as far to the rear as I can get it, it just balances better for me that way. The rubber eyepiece just kisses the rear sight so it's nice and low. Used this setup for few years in our club bullseye league and was vey happy with it.
