A 25-5 Shows Up at the Show Yesterday

I've got a 4" pinned 25-5 that had "super tight" throats. In fact, I had them opened up to .453" for my cast bullet loads. Every other of my model 25's have throats in the .456" range. I cast my bullets to .455", so all is well.

Interesting and good to hear.
With my very limited experience, yours was not the norm. Naturally, if had the choice on out of spec charge holes, I'd prefer the undersized.

Out of curiosity, has throat size been checked? I have pin gauges but also have a known sized jacketed bullet to slip in my pocket if going shopping at gun show, etc. Won't give exact size but an idea if oversized or not.

Love 25-5s, especially the 4 inchers. Took my 4" shooter backpacking in a Galco Alaskan chest rig.

Pre Model, Model 25 and 25-2 with a few 1950s snuggled in there too.

Had one just like it back in the early 80s. Traded it in for a 629-1. I never regretted it, or never will.
