How many versions or packaging was there for the 22-4. I believe I have seen the TR with soft case, one with a wooden case , and then just sold in the blue case ? Are these all the same gun ?

Allso, are they all SB, and the 21-4 was the only one in a RB ?

Im not sure but I think it was a progressive thing, early guns got the wood display case, then the soft case and finally the blue plastic case. I got mine rather late and it came in the blue plastic case. As far as I know all standard production 22-1's were round butt and all 22-4's were sguare butts. However some of the Lew Horton's such as the Heritage editions, may differ.

I have owned 3 of the 22-4s and only bought one new. It came in the soft case. I still have one of the thunder ranch version but did not buy it new. All 22s I have seen were square butts. The 21-4s were 44 specials in round butts.
