Hello
This is probably going to be a dumb question, but I am going to ask.
If my revolver (34-1) says 22 l.r., can I still fire 22 shorts in it?
On my older Winchester 22 rifle, it is stamped on the barrel 22 s, long & l.r., so I knwo what it can fire. Thanks Ron

It's a pain, but I shoot shorts in my High Standard & 10-22 to keep raiders at bay at the bird feeder. You just have to remember to clean it good before going back to a larger 22.

Thanks.
I had this box of shorts and from a rifle it is low noise. Thought I would use them up for some plinking.
Ron

In a way, that's not really a short. it is the correct length for a short, but its a CB- low velocity. Shorts have this size bullet, 29 gr vs the 40 gr. (normal loads) of Long Rifle rounds. Yes, it will shoot in any Long Rifle chamber. You can by Long Rifle CB's if you plan on doing a lot of pest work and need the quite, below the speed of sound, and not have to worry about keeping the chamber clean,.

Thanks for the info. This is the only box I have and figured I would used them up and then move on to the long rifle. I woud not be doing extensive shooting with them. Ron

While .22LR is scarce to nonexistent, the one thing I can still find in stores here at normal prices is CB ammo. Shorts and longs. Actually, the longs are more plentiful than the shorts because so few people buy them.

I like the CB Longs because they will feed through guns that tend to hang up with shorts. They don't have the power to cycle a semiauto, but will usually hand-cycle fine.

If you shoot the longs you get the same low power quiet shooting without the chamber fouling.

Normally, CCI CB Longs sell for more than the cheaper .22LR brands. But these days nothing is normal and the very fact that I can get them at pre-panic prices makes them a bargain.
