Who doesn’t love a nice 22 revolver?
Thought a 22 show and tell would be appreciated by most of our members.
I dug out my small assortment of rimfires today for a wipe down before the winter hibernation. I keep one of the 317-3 air lites in its EPS holster pretty handy but the rest of them are pretty much put up for the winter. On the rare chance for some winter outdoor plinking it and any my 6” 10 shot 617-6 can handle it.

The 10 shooter is my main plinker, I rarely go shooting with out it and it’s also my favorite bird gun. I bought this gun new about 20 years ago and it’s been a flawless shooter it’s also one of the most accurate revolvers I’ve ever had. Back when the eyes were a little better iron sighted, 10 shot rested groups at 25 yards around an inch or so were a real thing. I only keep a log book on my center fires and track round count by primers but this one must be well over 20k.

There's not much to tell, really. The Rugers were acquired one by one, the first from a pawn shop, the second from a friend's attic, the Bearcat from a local gun shop.

The Mini-revolver came from an LGS in Fort Worth, purchased just because it was cute, the Beretta from another LGS quite some years ago just because Mossad used such guns, the rifle "just because," and the two Walthers because my friend/FFL talked me into them.

I rarely shoot any of them. I did have a shoulder holster for the Bearcat - I might still have it - but I never carried it.

I only have one to add, a lone model 63. Truthfully I only bought it several years ago because the seller retired and was thinning out his herd for pennies on the dollar. I was always drawn to the big bore revolvers but have come to appreciate this lil booger this past year.

I don’t have any images to share but, I do find it unusual that the current S&W catalog does not offer a model 17 or similar; I do enjoy many of the full lug revolvers but.. for such a small caliber why would I ever want that monstrous barrel.. Is there a full lug barrel obsession out there?

The 63 Kit Gun is one of the most useful revolvers I own. Great for bringing new shooters into the hobby, but also just good fun for plinking or woods loafing. With 60 in the rear view mirror, I find myself not as enamored with big recoil like I was as a younger (more foolish) man. Everybody needs a Smith and Wesson .22!

No pics, but I have 2 22RF revolvers, a 4” 63 no dash and a 4” 617 10 shot.

I do like these 2 revolvers. Accurate, reliable, simply fun. I occasionally shoot the 617 in our local ICORE games- especially in winter as I don’t need to hunt for my brass in the snow

No pics. I have a 17-3 & a 34-2 4". Had to ream both cylinders to get reasonable extraction. I have the ultimate insult, an RG 10 3.5" that shoots much better than the 34-2!

Also have a 422-2 4" that shoots great. I had a 41 5" that I couldn't hit with, but the magazines fit both guns.

I also have a 63 no-dash 4" with rosewood combat grips. When women shoot it, they never want to give it back! LOL!

Also a 17-4 8-3/8", which pairs well with my no-dash 14 8-3/8".

Also 34-1 4", 617-2 6". The latter has the alloy cylinder, which was very cutting edge in its time. Most shooters rejected it at the time.

Also 22A-1, 41 5-1/2" & 43C snubbie.

Have a couple of .22WMR models, but you didn't ask for those...................

For those who've never stumbled over a 22A-1, they're just tremendous guns! I need to run mine against my 41, see how close it can get.

When I bought mine, I noticed the last 4 of the S/N matched my phone #! So I HAD to buy it! LOL!

Many of those I've never shot, I just enjoy owning & holding them.

I've got a half dozen or so 22's, but I don't have a group picture of them, so bear with me.

Smith and Wesson Model 18-2, from 1965. Sort of the flagship of the bunch. It's got the "three T's" the stocks are from the factory, and it has the original box S/N to the gun.

Colt New Frontier from 1985 IIRC. It's one of the ones with the crossbolt safety inside the loading gate.

Ruger standard Mk III. This one is probably my favorite to shoot. It just chugs along, whatever ammo I've got, it shoots.

Ruger Single-Six, 50 anniversary model. It's really my wife's, but she let's me show it off.

Last but not least, a Heritage Rough Rider, Barkeeper. Not a bad little shooter really. My wife thought the grips were "pretty" and made me buy it. When we got out of the store, she handed it to me saying "Happy Birthday."

For someone who says he doesn't care for single actions, i seem to have a few.

There is a Bersa Thunder 22 on order, but it hasn't shipped yet. I had one years ago, and have kicked myself or getting rid of it.

35-1 is my project gun, trying to get it tuned to perfection and not FTF. Love the sights and the Altamont Blackwood stocks. It hasnt seen much use before I purchased it this year. Its getting close.

Its at the point now where I think I need to just keep shooting it. I may look at a stronger main spring if things dont improve further.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that although I probably have 10,000+ rounds of .22LR sitting around, I don't have many .22 firearms anymore. I've passed down an old RG 14 revolver and several rifles including my first ever gun (Sears Model 101 single shot bolt-action) and a Remington Nylon 66. Currently, my only S&W is a 1948 K-22 Masterpiece. Other than that, I have a vintage Remington Model 511 bolt-action rifle, a Taurus TX-22, and a Dan Wesson Model 22. I bought the TX-22 for Action Steel and USPSA practice during COVID when 9mm ammo was hard to find. My wife's EDC is a Ruger LCR .22 Magnum...which she shoots very well! Enjoy!

A box of shells was 50 cents at Sears.
My 1st handgun was a nickel High Standard Double Nine, I never could get over that
it wasn't a Smith & Wesson.

Oh my! There are so many nice ones here it's hard to pick a favorite, but I'll mention one because it is so unusual and that would be your Browning Buckmark with the weighted short barrel. All very nice.

The best of the three 22/32 Beakert style target 22 cal. revolvers I have owned, all 3 had been sent back to the factory. One had factory paperwork, this one & the other did not. This is currently my last gun from my extensive collection of mostly vintage & target handguns & rifles. Lettered as shipped in 1919 with the Reg. Police target grips, & sent back to the factory in 1922 for unknown work. This one has a bobbed hammer & A O Niedner Malden, Mass. shop stamp on the frame above the trigger guard. It was later owned by Michael Petrov, old time gunsmith author & owner of the largest A O niedner collection as well as ASSRA guru. Michael also owned Niedner's Malden shop records, as this gun is not listed in the records, it would have been part of Niedner's collection, on which he used the Malden stamp on his personal guns after the move to Dowagiac, Mi.

I have an NAA pocket revolver I carry. I had a chance to buy a K-22 Outdoorsman from VeteranW4 here but didn't have the funds at the time. May try to reach out to him when I have the expendable income.

I have this 50 year old .22 from Smith and Wesson. It's still in pretty good shape. Hope it holds its value from year to year.
