I inherited a 22 caliber that does not have a model number and I was wondering if someone can identify it for me and give me an approximate value. The pistol has the following features:

1. Type: Hand Ejector
2. Serial Number: K 11805 (on butt of the gun)
3. CTG or Caliber: 22 LR
4. Barrel Length: 6"
5. Sights: Hand Ejector Post-War Adjustable
6. Strain Screw: Yes
7. Butt Swivel: No
8. Lanyard Ring: No
9. How Many Screws: 5

It is a genuine K22 Masterpiece made in 1947 when Smith and Wessons had names, not numbers.
Ten years later, they would hang Model 17 on them.

Looks good, I can't guess a dollar value, but it is substantial.

I see some honest light wear, but it's not been abused in its 75 years. You can look on Gunbroker at completed auctions to see what they've sold for recently.
Yours being an early 1st year gun with the one line "Made in USA" roll mark makes it just a little more desirable. They to the 4-line patent info stamping shortly after.
Just throwing a rough number out there, I can see it selling for $700-800.
Others here can narrow that down. I haven't bought a K22 in a few years.
Definitely a keeper and an amazing shooter.

yes it does have some bluing wear at the tip of the barrel from being in a leather holster but overall the rest is in good shape.
