.22 Jet question

I have a four screw, model 53, .22 Jet s/n K4753xx. Can anyone tell me when it was shipped and how long did S&W produce these noise makers.

Produced 1961 to 1974, that serial number should put yours around early 1962. The four screw became a three screw in 1962.

t's impossible to give an accurate ship date without the entire serial number. it shipped any from 1963 to 1966. Anyone can guess, but, it's a guess. If your happy with a three year spread, I'll guess 1664

I believe they dropped the Model 53 in 1973, they may have sold some after that. Jeff
