Anyone loading 22 jet that can share some insight? It seems that at some point I ended up with some reloads bought at a show during my less enlightened years. These are labeled as loaded with H110, 12.0 Grains behind 40 grain Hornady bullets. The Hogdon website, the only load data I can find for the H110 powder, lists a max load of 11.0 grains for 2019 FPS from an 8-3/8 barrel. Unless someone has some data that indicates differently, it looks like I might pull these apart and redo them with the proper charge.

My 3rd edition of the Hornady manual, published in 1981, shows a max load of 12.7 gr. H-110. That is for the Hornady 40gr bullet with a diameter of 0.222". (see attached)
Velocity measured using a T/C Contender 10" barrel, with a .224" bore.
Read the comments in the third attachment.

As you may know, H-110 works at its best when it is close to filling the case, less the space taken up by the projectile.
That load may actually be a very good load.
The comments in the Hornady manual concerning pressure vs. bore diameter are perhaps worth considering. But, honestly, I think they are only a concern in regard to the data shown elsewhere that uses .224" bullets which are not advisable for the S&W M53.
If the bullets used in your load are, in fact, .222" that might give you some further peace of mind.

PS: I love the cover artwork!

FWIW, I got a box of reloads with mine when I bought it.
Pulled the bullets, weighed the powder and re-seated & re-crimped every one of them.
They were all correct, and very consistent, so afterwards I felt confident shooting them.
