Question regarding boxes for the Model 45. Were the boxes normally printed with the model number etc. in addition to the white inspector's label which was filled out by hand?
I have a 4" M45-2 and have been looking for a box for some time now. Obviously the chances of finding the original box are slim to none but one which was correct for the era the revolver was made would be nice for a display. The only two that I have found just didn't look right. On one the inspector's label was ripped thus missing much of the info and the other appeared recently printed and "aged" which set off the warning bells.
Thanks in advance for any input.
