.22 oxidation

I have a brick of Remington Target .22s that the bullets have oxidation on them. I've had them for a decade, but they've just been either in the safe or the closet. As they are, they won't chamber, but with a little brushing, they will work. A stiff old toothbrush will do the job. I have a Colt Peacemaker that I can remove the cylinder, just drop the brushed shell in to see if the job it done. What a pain. Has anyone else had this problem? Any other remedies?

I had a box of old, really old, .32 rimfire that had the same problem. And I did the same thing. A good brushing to get the crud off.

I've used a rag with a little solvent on it to wipe the oxidation off. It has to be bad for you, so try not to breath the dust and wash your hands well after handling.

Those need to be shot up- accuracy will be nill though.

Since the wax is gone, likely they will lead pretty bad.

Wipe with some liquid Alox on a rag, they won't lead

You need to keep lead 22lr ammo in a sealed "box", like a surplus 50 cal ammo can.
