22 Winchester Auto

Only the Model 1903 Winchester semiauto rifle.
That rifle became the popular Model 63 in standard .22LR caliber.

I don't know the age of the ammo box shown, but I believe the stuff was made up into the 50's at least.

A few special runs of the round were made in the 80's or 90's.

Remington had it's own 'special' .22 auto round called the .22 Remington Automatic.
Theirs was chambered in only one gun as well,,their Model 16 semiauto rifle. About the same time period.

The two rounds are nearly the same in dimensions though the Winchester is slightly larger by a few .000 in all of them.
Most publications will say that neither of these will interchange and function in the other's firearm.
But from very limited experience I can say that the Remington .22 Auto round will chamber, fire and function in the Winchester Model 1903 rifle .
The 22 Winchester Automatic round doesn't want to work in the Remington Model 16 though.
