.22lr 1911

I know that there are a ton of .22 conversion kits, but a designated .22lr 1911 from S&W would be awesome. Kimber makes some very pricey models that are over $700 I believe. And ATI (The maker of the GSG5) makes one for under $300, along with Chiappa.

I would love a .22 1911, and would love it even more being a Smith

I would love to find one that was both affordable and didn't feel like it was made out of pot metal (i.e. chiappa etc).

Kimber might be it...

I doubt S&W could get much under $700. I think it's a good concept, but Kimber has already set the bar.
