Good evening,

Found an interesting 25-2 the other day. 45 ACP revolver with a lot of modifications.

Target hammer cut into an acorn profile
Target trigger face smoothed, no grooves
Barrel cut very short, no front lock
Ball detent holding yoke
Grip frame shaped to a round butt profile
Red ramp front sight
No markings on the barrel
Shown with American holly grips (Texas Grips) but came with K frame RB Pachs.

Is it a Jovino? I guess I’ll need to letter it to be sure.

Serial number N805XXX

I do not know if it is a Jovino, but it is similar to his style. Many other smith emulated that short barreled shooter.

I have a bunch of ACP revolvers. I have found if you reload, they seem to prefer a lead bullet with a lot of bearing surface.

The bullet on the right is my current edc, the SAECO 453, a 235 grain full wadcuttter.

I to have a short 25-2 and I think its a Jovino has the ball detent. Was wondering what the value is.

Are there any remaining gunsmiths who will work a model 25 into the 3" barrel?
Seems like a lost art and those that are capable of such a feat probably have "closed their books" for any new work...

How do you guys find all these short barrels? Most of mine are typical 6.5" Out of my modest collection from 1903 to 1980 S&W revolvers 4" is the shortest I own or even had the chance to buy.

I found mine at a local auction house. It lettered going to Jovino then to some NYC firm. They did this one in hard chrome with typical square to round butt modification. It was a great shooter. Sold it, with the letter, a year and a half ago.
