Brought it home with me today, spur of the moment purchase. Haven't seen one in my area in a long time.
It is marked on right side of barrel "125th Anniversary"
6 1/2" barrel. Blue, TH, TT, smooth target grips with S&W medallion. The serial # is different from my experience with S&W numbers. S/N is S&W0641. When was S&W 125th Anniversary?
Will this S/N coincide with the Anniversary year? When was they coincidence?
Thank you. I'll get a pic up soon.
Marked "45" only but is chambered in 45 Colt.

1977 was the year of production of the 25-3 125th Anniversary Commemorative.

They were serial numbered in their own sequence. There were 10,000 total made. 50 were Class A engraved and were Model 25-4, plus there were 2 super-deluxe guns the factory kept. Serial numbers went SW0001 to SW10000. Every 50 units would be a deluxe 25-4, SW0010, SW0020 and so on to SW0500, according to SCS&W IV.

I bought 2 of them when they were introduced. I shot one a little bit, then sold it. I kept the other, SW5951. Bought them 11-22-77, from my notes.

I have a serious problem with this 25-3. The rear sight has been discarded and a Weaver style rail installed, 2 holes drilled and tapped in the top strap and a 500$ Trijicon Reflex sight added. I don't like it........the sight can be resold but I need a rear sight for the revolver. And there don't seem to be some.....
