27-1 question-need help

i just bought one on gunbroker. does anyone have an idea how few of this model were made. Mine is a more common 6 inch barrel, but they only were made one year
How many were made, does anyone know?

I have no idea how many were made, but I have never had hands on a 27 or 27-1 and I can spot an N frame 357 a mile away. I can't keep my hands off them. So, there cannot have been very many made compared to the pre 27 and 27-2. Congratulations on a great find.

I have only seen one Model 27-1. It was a 3 1/2" blue gun and I bought it on the spot. It had Goodyears on it and I had to add a set of diamond targets. Pretty scares I think.

I'm not sure anyone would know how many were made but it's certainly on the rare side.

Congratulations on your dash one acquisition - I love the finish on these guns. As you know, the 27-1 is a rather scarce gun, but not as rare as some others like the 29-1 or even the 19-1. I have seen and documented more than a dozen on the 27 platform and managed to acquire two, both 6-inch blue, so they do come up. If you look at the years of production of the various dash variations, while not P&R, the 27-4 and the 27-6 are also short runs, but they do not have the earlier bright finish.
