27-2 3.5” presentation case

Thank you Richard. I had a feeling they were different sizes from pics I’ve seen. Just asking, was looking at a 3.5” in a 4” presentation case. Sounds like it will be the same overall dimensions for either.
Thoughts on the correct cleaning rod length for the 3.5” ? I would assume the 3.5 shared the 4” so to speak.

Thanks again. It’s kinda a basket case lol. Perfect function, small dot on cylinder from what I seem to believe is from the contact with insert. It also seems to be wearing some not so nice looking but perfect condition targets. Case exterior is fine, has the tools and docs. Insert not crazy bad, could maybe use a restore. Cleaning rod is also the wrong length. $1800.

Just to clarify, the cases for the 3.5” and 4” are different sizes and not the same size internally. From my experience, the 3.5” case is the second hardest to find as well as second most expensive if you can find one only behind the first year velour case for the model 57. I’d be interested in RT44Nut or JCELECT’s thoughts on this statement too. I only have two in my collection and both are original without any restoration and I’ve attached one for reference.

Sorry I didn’t answer the rarity question earlier. You are right. I watch for cases and have only seen 1 model 57 case you mentioned for sale in several years. A good original 3-1/2” case would be the next hardest to find in my opinion.

Yes, the exterior case dimensions are the same but the inserts are different sizes.

A good many years ago I agreed to buy a 3 1/2” Presentation Case. Mistakenly, I was sent a 4” one. Thankfully, the seller still had the one I wanted and we were able to straighten everything out. When I first opened the 4” one, I wasn’t sure it was incorrect, but when I tried my 3 1/2” Model 27 in it, it didn’t fit correctly. The 3 1/2” ones bring a pretty penny these days!

Thanks all. Is $1800 in line cost wise? The 4” liner will need to be refurbished and the cleaning rod will need to be replaced to one of proper length. Gun itself is very clean, hardly a turn line. Just has some ugly plain colored checkered targets. Those would have to go. Seems like a lot money and would still need to add some more to make it right.
