27-2 6 inch

Well found this one today and could not pass on it. It is in spectacular shape. When do you know if you have to many 27-2’s As I type this I am at 5, I think I have a problem.

Your problem is that you don't have 6.

6 would be the optimum number, one in each barrel length; but then, you'd need 12, one each in blue and nickel. I'm a purist, so I won't mention the 627's.

I like the picture you took of that beautifully checkered top strap and rib. It stands out way over the plain one of the M28, and I wonder why there weren't more of their signature models with it (M19, M29, M57).

First of all - BEAUTIFUL 6" 27-2!!! Congrats on running that one down.

In answer to your questions, it sounds like your problem is that you ONLY have five of them... I am not sure that you can ever have too many 27's (or their pre- equivalents).

We would love to see a group shot of all five of them together.

Regardless of how many I have, I always find myself needing at least one, or two, or three or four more.

Very nice 27-2, FB67...one of my very favorite N-frame revolvers! Like you, I only have 5 at the moment. However, I think a "Baker's Dozen" is about the right number for me. Just look at ditrina's collection- almost a double Baker's Dozen and probably growing! It's a disease. Especially when you add other .357 Magnums (Highway Patrolman), .44 Magnums, and .41 Magnums! BTW- the 12-step program doesn't work with S&W addicts! Good luck! Enjoy.

Beautiful piece. Maybe just be a wonky pic, or my eyes, but does the rear sight leaf look funky on the left side?
Seeing everyone post up all these 27s., it's no wonder they are so difficult to find!

I've had two six inch M27s and I sold both of them.
The blue one was a "S" 27 shipped 6/61.
The nickel was a "S" 27-2 shipped 8/68.
Both of them were very nice .357s.

That's because, after 17 years of work in addictions/recovery, I've learned that the addict has to actually WANT to get better...

And I know folks dote on the 3.5" models - they are undoubtedly cool. But I really like my 6" (mine's a 5-screw version). I need a really good holster for it. It's one of my favorites to carry while hunting, vying with my 4" 24-3 .44 Special.

I know nothing about how many of the Model 27-2 constitute a problem. I traded my last one off on a S&W 45 ACP revolver. I now have 14, or is it 15, ACP revolvers. No problem, yet!

Left side 27-2’’’’

I traded a 629-1 and a 29-3 both 6 inch for a Colt SAA 2nd gen that I just needed. Really liking those old Colts also.

Beautiful collection of 27-2's - but you're missing an examples of the 6.5" barrel and 4" barrel. So at a minimum you need at least a couple more.
