Few months ago, I picked up a nice 27-2, looks like never been fired. According to the 4th edition, it is from 78 or 79. However, I noticed on the barrell (both sides) the stamping is colored gold. Has anyone ever seen one like this?

Thanks

Congratulations on the 27! The most common paint like used on yours was "Bonanza Gold" I still have a bottle of it in my furnace room. I wonder if it is dried up??? Acetone or nail polish remover should work quite well. I don't have a 27, but have a 6" 28, no dash from 1960. Bob

I still have two of those bonanza gold kits from the 70's. It had the glue, the gold dust and the sealer. It does wear off.
