Hello. I have a near perfect condition 27-2, potentially unfired. Almost no turn line. Its got the 8 3/8in barrel. I don’t have the box or papers, but the guy I bought it from fashioned a very nice custom presentation case. What is it’s approximate value? Thanks everyone for your input!

Very nice case. It would help to have closer pictures of both sides of the revolver, and to know the serial number, at least the letter and first three digits. M27-2 was made for 21 years (1961-1982), and the SN prefix changed from S to N around 1969. Early guns bring more than later guns. 8-3/8" barrel isn't usually as desirable as the shorter ones.

I think the 8” version is the least desirable of 27 barrel lengths. Unless someone is looking for that specific gun to complete a collection, I’d say $1000 to $1200.

The case is really nice, but it's not a factory presentation case. The Model 27-2 does look really good, but detailed photos would help with a value guesstimate. The 8 3/8" barrel actually puts it at the lower end of the value spectrum.

I personally love the long-tube .357 Magnums. I also love custom cases. Your Model 27 in that custom case is very nice. That said, I would agree that the long tube Magnums get less love today than some of the shorter ones (particularly the 3.5" and 5" ones) and a value in the $1K to $1.5K range would be consistent with what I have seen in the market.

We would love to see some more photos of your gun and its custom case.:)

Just one more observation - the case appears to have been made for a full underlug gun - most likely a 8 3/8" barreled Model 686 or 586. But I do love that Magnum in the case.

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks for the replies everyone. Here are some more pictures.

Based on my research, $1k-$1.5k sounds right. May try to sell locally first but if not will end up on here.

If there’s any other pictures anyone would like to see let me know.
