Looks like a nice one. My first 27-2 was a six incher and I was hooked. Over the years, I have added another 6”, a couple in 5”, two more in 3 1/2”, one in 4” and lastly a 8 3/8". The 6 1/2” eludes me. You’re going to like your 27-2. I do. Enjoy.
That is a beauty. Looks like target hammer and trigger? Patridge front sight? Those target stocks are icing on the cake! JA
I feel your pain, still looking for a 6.5 too and, like you, have the others. Maybe there weren't all that many 6.5s? Nice gun Pine_Worker, enjoy.

2 T’s, hammer and trigger. Box says it came with Magnas. The target stocks were a bonus the seller threw in.
D,Took it to the range this morning. What a pleasure to shoot, and accurate!
D,
I sold the Gold cup today. Glad you like the 27.

I’ve been looking for one of these that I could afford, finally found one today and snatched it up. It is a 1978 from the serial number. The Magnas came with it and the targets were thrown in. Very smooth action.

Happy, happy, happy!
Who doesn't like a 27. Yours sir is a beaut. I am lucky to have two. However the 27-1 6.5" is very special since it belonged to my Uncle John.

That is the original box and serial number shows to be 1977-78Congrats on the acquisition of S&W's finest. One note - the box in your photo is significantly newer than the gun, if it is in fact a 1978 gun. The box would date to 1982 or 1983...
