My favorite LGS finally scored a few nice S&W's after a couple month dry spell. They had a 66 no dash 4 inch, 629-4 4 inch Lew Horton, 629-3 8 3/8ths, Pre-Model 17 and a 28-2 6 inch with a presentation case and tools. One look at the 28 and I had to have it! Between 19-4 trade- in and cash I have $560 in it. The gun looks to have been taken to the range once. No wear anywhere. Faint turn line and a couple of scratches that look to be from jewelry are the only flaws. Cleanest 28 I've ever handled. Dates to 1975/76 according to the SCofS&W. Can't wait to wring her out at the range!

You got a very good deal. Figure that the case and tools should be worth about a hundred, ditto the stocks, so you got the gun itself for under $400. As it is pretty much "pristine" that is a real buy.

If you ever decide to sell the 28, you can keep the presentation case, tools and grips because as you know, they did not come with the gun. You got a great deal.

Outstanding !! Can't beat a nice Highway Patrolman.
Sounds like you got it right also.
Have fun shooting it my friend.
