Purchased a 28-2 on line. Looked good when I got it but apparently the rear sight was lose. First trip to the range the rear sight came apart and the elevation stud was lost. Does the stud go directly on the elevation nut? I purchased a stud and have it in hand. Is there any trick to putting the sight back on?

The adjustable rear sight is attached to the frame at the front with the small screw and attached at the rear by the elevation screw and nut with square base. The square base goes in the keyway cut into the frame. Try driving in the front screw partway, forcing the rear sight down so the elevation screw engages the nut, and then go back and tighten both.
