Just picked this up today. Really nice 6” 29-3. Excellent condition barely a turn line. I have mostly pinned and recessed revolvers. Is there a Year of man./serial number range on these alpha serial numbers? This one starts “ACB5xxx” I believe. Thanks

Nice gun! My copy of the SCSW does not list that specific prefix, I will guess somewhere between '83 and '85. As you have the box, post the number listed under "Spec Ord". That will be the shipping date in Julian date format. First number is the year IIRC.

I like your revolver. I bought a 29-3 brand new in 1987 at a Virginia Beach gun show for $200. The dealer was from Indiana and had dozens with him. It has been a very good reliable revolver for me.

Love my S&W 29-3 6" barrel. Paid $342 in 1985. Lovely gun, you'll have fun.
