29-3 6" Silhouette Front Sight Repair

I have a really nice 29-3 6" Silhouette model. The front sight seems to have something wrong with it. I can adjust the 4 positions if needed with the .050 Allen key, but the adjustment wheel pretty much moves freely and will not work. I am wondering if a spring or something behind the hinge is missing or broken as I cannot get it to press down as you typically would changing distances. Does anyone have a diagram with part numbers?

Has it always been that way? Maybe the detent is stuck down. I haven't had my 10.5" 29-3 front sight apart, but I assume they use a similar spring and detent as typical post-war rear sights. If you do take it apart, do it inside a bag. Those detents are springs are easy to launch.
